Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, developed and operated by GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Limited (GVIAL), commenced commercial operations at Bhogapuram with domestic and international flights, including services by IndiGo, Air India Express and Scoot.
Why it matters
A new operational international airport adds regular air connectivity for North Andhra Pradesh and supports passenger and cargo movement via a 3,800-metre runway capable of handling wide-body aircraft.
