Andhra Pradesh to start PMAY-G pilot building 177 rural homes with 3D concrete printing

Burripalem, Andhra Pradesh4 Oct 2026

The Hindu reports that Andhra Pradesh will begin a national-level pilot under PMAY-G to construct rural houses using 3D Concrete Printing, starting with 100 housing units in Burripalem (Guntur district) and 77 units in Pothuru. The project outlay is ₹13.93 crore (excluding taxes), funded by ₹9.44 crore from the Union Ministry of Rural Development and ₹4.49 crore from the State government, with work described as “breaking ground” on October 4.

Why it matters

If executed as planned, this pilot would test whether automated 3D-printed construction can be used within a major rural housing scheme at scale, potentially changing build time and labour needs for such homes.
