Foundation stones laid for AMCA Core Integration & Flight Testing Centre in Puttaparthi

On 2026-05-15, foundation stones were laid at Puttaparthi (Sri Sathya Sai district, Andhra Pradesh) for the Aeronautical Development Agency’s Core Integration & Flight Testing Centre, described as a component to fast-track development of the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) and other future indigenous platforms. The PIB release states the facility is being established at an approximate cost of ₹2,000 crore and that the event also included grounding ceremonies for other defence manufacturing projects in the state.

A dedicated integration and flight-testing centre can shorten development and certification timelines for indigenous combat aircraft and related platforms by concentrating key test and integration infrastructure in one place.
