Reliance proposes UCG exploration and pilot for coal gasification complex in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh

Reliance Industries Limited proposed investing about ₹2.73 lakh crore over 30 years to develop an integrated Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) complex using the Chintalapudi and Recherla coal blocks in Eluru district, Andhra Pradesh, subject to commercial viability after exploration. The company said it will begin exploration activities in the current fiscal, with an exploration and pilot phase planned from Q3 2026 to Q4 2027 with up to ₹3,000 crore proposed investment.
