Sigma Advanced Systems begins aerospace component production at Sri City facility

Sigma Advanced Systems said it has started production at its aerospace manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, eight months after ground-breaking. The plant has produced its first batch of precision-machined aerospace components and shipped them to Sigma’s UK operations for final verification; the site’s first 75,000 sq ft is operating with stated capacity of 100,000 annual machining hours.
Why it matters
Operational machining capacity in India can shift a larger share of aerospace manufacturing work into the country and support export-oriented supply chains.
