Andhra Pradesh makes Farmer ID mandatory for sales at government procurement centres

The Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Department decided that farmers must have a valid Farmer ID (Unique Farmer Number) and linked land parcels to sell produce at government procurement centres ahead of the Kharif procurement season. AP Markfed and the Civil Supplies Corporation were directed to purchase produce only from land parcels linked to a valid Farmer ID.

This changes the state’s procurement process by tying eligibility for government procurement purchases to verified farmer identity and land-parcel linkage.
