Apple Pay goes live in India with Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard credit cards

Apple Pay went live in India on September 30, 2026, initially supporting Visa and Mastercard credit cards issued by Axis Bank. At launch it is available on iPhone and iPad, with Mac support stated to be in the works; UPI payments and RuPay cards are not supported initially.
Why it matters
This adds a new tap-to-pay option for card payments in India, enabling Apple device users to pay in stores and online via Apple Pay where supported.
