NFR restores Lines 2 and 3 at New Harangajao station after track settlement

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) completed restoration work on Lines 2 and 3 at New Harangajao station in Dima Hasao district, Assam, after track settlement disrupted train movement on the Lumding–Badarpur hill section. Trains are now being operated on Lines 2 and 3 with enhanced safety measures, while restoration on Line 1 is still under way.
Why it matters
Restoring two tracks helps normalise rail connectivity through a key hill section linking the Barak Valley and adjoining states with the rest of India.
