ONGC commissions gas evacuation facility at Khoraghat GGS-1 in Assam

ONGC said it has commissioned gas evacuation facilities at Khoraghat GGS-1 in Golaghat district, Assam. According to the company, this enables utilisation of nearly 1 lakh standard cubic metres of gas per day from its Jorhat asset by processing and evacuating surplus associated natural gas through the North East Gas Grid developed by Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited.
Why it matters
The facility increases the ability to move and use gas from ONGC’s Upper Assam operations via the regional gas grid, potentially reducing wastage and improving local gas availability.
