East Central Railway tested Kavach automatic train protection on Barauni sections

East Central Railway conducted a successful trial of the indigenous Kavach automatic train protection system on the 65-km Barauni–Samastipur and Barauni–Begusarai sections, where two Kavach-fitted locomotives approached head-on and automatically stopped at a safe distance.
Why it matters
Successful field trials validate that collision-avoidance braking works as intended, supporting safer operations as Kavach is installed on more ECR routes.
