Bihar Cabinet approved ₹3,516 crore for Vishnupad Temple area development and Son–Phalgu river link

The Bihar Cabinet gave administrative approval on September 15, 2026 for two projects totaling just over ₹3,516 crore: comprehensive development of the Vishnupad Temple area in Gaya Ji (estimated ₹2,520 crore) and construction of the Son–Phalgu river linking scheme (estimated ₹996 crore), according to the state Secretariat Department’s Additional Chief Secretary.
Why it matters
Administrative approval commits the projects to proceed into execution, enabling planned upgrades to the Gaya Ji temple precinct and a river-linking work intended to be completed as a construction project.
