IRIMEE Jamalpur and IIT Kharagpur sign 5-year MoU to train officials on Vande Bharat, MEMU maintenance

IRIMEE (Jamalpur) and IIT Kharagpur signed a five-year MoU to provide advanced training to Indian Railways officials on maintenance systems for Vande Bharat train sets and MEMU, including electric safety, traction systems, and advanced maintenance practices. The first batch is planned to include at least 40 officials from zonal railways, with training scheduled for November 16–27.
Why it matters
It strengthens technical capability for maintaining modern rolling stock, which can support reliability and safety of newer train fleets in service.
