Air India inducted three retrofitted Boeing 787-8 aircraft in 2026

Air India has inducted three retrofitted Boeing 787-8 aircraft in 2026 as part of its legacy fleet retrofit programme, with the widebody retrofit programme underway. The airline said another four retrofitted Boeing 787-8 aircraft are expected to enter service before the end of 2026.
Why it matters
Each retrofitted widebody entering service increases the share of the fleet with upgraded cabins and can improve operational reliability on long-haul routes.
