Google to share CSAM case details with India’s I4C cybercrime division

New Delhi, Delhi21 Sept 2026

Google confirmed it has proposed to operationalise sharing relevant information on child sexual abuse material (CSAM) cases and repeat offenders with the cybercrime division of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C). The company told I4C and the Ministry of Electronics and IT that case details would begin flowing once its technical framework is ready.

Why it matters

Direct reporting to I4C could reduce delays for Indian law enforcement in acting on CSAM cases compared with relying only on referrals via the US-based NCMEC.
