Indian Army received 450 Nagastra-1R loitering munitions from Solar Defence

The Indian Army received a batch of 450 indigenous Nagastra-1R loitering munitions on Tuesday, described as its single largest delivery of indigenous loitering munitions to date. The systems were supplied by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited under an emergency procurement order valued at over ₹158 crore, after trials held last year.
Why it matters
This delivery increases the Army’s available stock of short-range loitering munitions for operational use, enabling wider fielding of these systems.
