MeitY issued guidelines and opened the Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS)

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) issued guidelines for the ₹62,500-crore Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS) and said the scheme opened on Aug 21, 2026. The scheme is stated to be effective from April 1, 2026 and provides production-linked incentives for manufacturing mobile phones in India, with eligibility and incentive rates defined in the guidelines.
