Ministry of Tourism launched the National Digital Tourism Stack with ONDC

The Ministry of Tourism launched the National Digital Tourism Stack, being developed with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), alongside the Dekho Apna Desh 2.0 programme at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on 2026-09-27. The stack is described as shared digital infrastructure (not a single booking portal) with proposed features including verified identities/supplier credentials, search and discovery, payments, ratings and grievance redressal, with phased implementation and a pilot planned for January 2027.
Why it matters
If implemented as described, it could let small tourism providers list and be discovered across multiple participating platforms, rather than relying on a single dominant marketplace.
