Discounted onion sales begin in Delhi NCR at ₹35/kg using central buffer stock

The central government began retail sales of onions at ₹35/kg in Delhi NCR, supplied from its onion buffer stock. Sales are being conducted through Nafed, NCCF, Kendriya Bhandar and Mother Dairy (Safal outlets), including via mobile vans and retail stores in Delhi and parts of NCR.
Why it matters
Releasing buffer-stock onions into retail channels can increase near-term availability and help moderate retail prices for consumers in high-price markets.
