RPF ordered immediate operationalisation of DS-12 E-Forecasting Register for crowd surges

New Delhi, Delhi· company base17 Sept 2026

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) introduced a digital system called the "DS-12 E-Forecasting Register of RPF for High-Footfall Events" (EFRR) to forecast, monitor and record actions and post-event assessments for high-footfall events at railway stations. On 2026-09-17, RPF headquarters directed senior zonal security officials to operationalise the EFRR with immediate effect and ensure timely data entry of forthcoming events, including building a repository of potentially crowded events from 2022 onwards.

Why it matters

A single forecasting and tracking system can help Indian Railways’ security teams plan deployments and coordination earlier, improving preparedness for crowd surges at stations.
