Pilot started to link fertiliser sales with farmers’ land records in 56 districts across 22 states

Location not reported31 Jul 2026

The Department of Fertilizers has started a phased pilot to integrate app-based fertiliser booking and sales with farmers’ land records, covering 56 districts in 22 states as of July 31 (target: 80 districts). The pilot expands the iFMS PoS ecosystem by linking purchases with AgriStack-based farmer IDs and land ownership verification, using QR-based bookings that are checked at the point of sale.

Why it matters

Linking fertiliser purchases to verified land and crop data can improve visibility into usage patterns and help monitor subsidy outlays and supply anomalies more closely than transaction-only tracking.
