Dixon Technologies and Gemtek signed JV agreement for optical connectivity products in India

Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd said it has signed a joint venture agreement with Taiwan-based Gemtek Technology Co Ltd to manufacture and supply optical connectivity products in India. The proposed 60:40 JV is intended to manufacture optical transceivers (SFP), BOSA products and other telecom products, and the transaction is expected to be completed by February 3, 2027 subject to conditions precedent.
Why it matters
If completed and operationalised, the JV could add domestic manufacturing capability for optical modules used in telecom networks and data centres.
