Fujifilm said it will invest ~₹800 crore for a semiconductor materials plant in Dholera

Fujifilm said it is investing about ₹800 crore, in phases, to establish a semiconductor materials plant in the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), Gujarat. The company also signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Tata Electronics aimed at accelerating development of a semiconductor materials ecosystem around Tata Electronics’ upcoming fab in Dholera.
Why it matters
A local semiconductor materials plant and related collaboration could reduce dependence on imports for chipmaking chemicals and support supply-chain readiness for fabs planned in Dholera.
