Nexperia to partner with Tata Electronics to make and package chips in India

Nexperia said it will partner with Tata Electronics to manufacture Nexperia power control chips at Tata’s semiconductor plant under construction in Dholera, and to cooperate on testing and assembling chips at Tata’s packaging facility in Jagiroad. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the companies also said they will cooperate on developing future technology.
Why it matters
If implemented, the partnership would shift part of Nexperia’s chip manufacturing and packaging work to facilities in India, adding prospective production and packaging activity at Tata’s sites.
