Indian Railways approved ₹166.5 crore four-lane road overbridge in Vadodara

Indian Railways approved a ₹166.5 crore project to build a four-lane road overbridge (ROB) at Alkapuri near Vadodara railway station in Gujarat, with the cost to be shared equally with the Government of Gujarat. The ROB is planned to augment east–west connectivity between the Alkapuri and Kalaghoda areas and address constraints of the existing Alkapuri road underbridge.
Why it matters
A higher-capacity grade-separated crossing is expected to reduce congestion and improve access around Vadodara station, including links to the GSRTC bus station and the upcoming high-speed rail station.
