GX Group says its advanced photonics manufacturing facility will start operations in Dec 2026

GX Group said it plans to commence manufacturing operations at its advanced photonics facility from December 2026. The company also said it has received government approval for phase 1 under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), with phase-1 investment of ₹100 crore within an initially planned ₹500 crore project, to make optical transceiver SFPs and related optical sub-assemblies via its arm GX Quantum Photonics.
Why it matters
If the facility begins production as stated, it would add domestic manufacturing capacity for optical transceivers and sub-assemblies used in telecom networks and AI data centres, reducing reliance on imports/assembly.
