Additional APM gas allocation linked to incremental domestic PNG connections, effective Sept 1

The government announced that eligible city gas distributors will be allocated an additional 200 standard cubic metres (SCM) of lower-priced Administered Price Mechanism (APM) natural gas for every incremental billed domestic piped natural gas (PNG) connection they add, effective September 1, 2026. The allocation will be over and above the threshold level for the respective geographical area and will be implemented in two tranches over six months, according to the government statement cited by The Hindu.
