Indian Railways reports 2,500+ km of commercial hydrogen-train operations (mid-July–early Aug 2026)

Indian Railways said its hydrogen-powered trains have completed over 2,500 km of commercial operations till early August 2026, after starting in mid-July 2026. The railway is also exploring ways to broaden its green hydrogen vendor base to reduce procurement costs as it plans to scale up hydrogen-train operations.
