Northern Railway issued tenders for warehouses near Anantnag and Pampore stations

Northern Railway (Jammu division) invited tenders on the IREPS portal to develop and operate two warehouses near Anantnag and Pampore railway stations under the Cargo Related Facility (CRF) policy, with a 25-year lease period for private operators.
Why it matters
If built and operated, these warehouses could add rail-linked storage for local produce (including apples and saffron), helping reduce handling costs and post-harvest losses and supporting faster freight movement to major markets.
