Jammu & Kashmir notified its Electric Vehicle Policy 2026 (2026–2032)
Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir1 Oct 2026
The Jammu and Kashmir government notified the J&K Electric Vehicle Policy 2026, following approval by the Council of Ministers. The policy sets a 2026–2032 roadmap including targets such as 1.40 lakh EVs by 2032, 900 public charging sites (including 140 fast-charging hubs), EV-ready building bye-laws for 20% of parking capacity, and incentives including interest subvention and scrappage-linked support.
Why it matters
A notified EV policy creates an enforceable framework for EV adoption and charging buildout across J&K’s districts, shaping investment and implementation over 2026–2032.
