Groundwork began for Hebbal tunnel project at KVAFSU campus in Bengaluru

Groundwork for the proposed ~2.2-km, three-lane bidirectional Hebbal tunnel road in north Bengaluru began in early August 2026, according to the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), which is executing the project. The tunnel is planned to run from the Hebbal flyover junction through the GKVK campus (University of Agricultural Sciences) and end at the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU), with part of the alignment within metres of Hebbal Lake.
