BMRCL inducts first Titagarh-CRRC six-coach train (TS16) into Green Line service

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. inducted its first six-coach trainset built under the Titagarh-CRRC rolling stock contract—train TS16—into passenger service on the 33-km Green Line (Madavara–Silk Institute). BMRCL said the incoming trains will be used to withdraw older trainsets for scheduled maintenance, with each trainset expected to be under maintenance for about 15 days.
Why it matters
Adding new trainsets allows BMRCL to take older trains out of service for mid-life overhauls without reducing fleet availability as sharply, supporting safety and reliability on the corridor.
