Railway Board sanctions new BEML trainsets for Bengaluru Metro Pink Line elevated section

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) received Railway Board sanction for the new BEML trainsets proposed to operate on the 7.5-km elevated section of Bengaluru Metro’s Pink Line (Kalena Agrahara–Tavarekere). BMRCL said this sanction is a prerequisite for commissioning and will be submitted to the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) for inspection and authorisation before passenger services can begin.
Why it matters
This regulatory clearance moves the Pink Line’s elevated section closer to CMRS inspection and eventual passenger operation, enabling a new metro connection on the Kalena Agrahara–Tavarekere stretch.
