RDI Fund selects C-CAMP as Focus Research Organisation with ₹500 crore allocation
Bengaluru, Karnataka16 Oct 2026
India’s RDI Fund selected the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) as one of its Focus Research Organisations and declared a funding allocation of ₹500 crore. The article says C-CAMP will act as a second level fund manager and aims to build a consortium of over ₹1,000 crore with private partners and investors to support deeptech life sciences start-ups (TRL 4 and above).
Why it matters
This commits substantial public capital to be deployed via a dedicated biotech-focused fund manager, potentially increasing later-stage funding availability for Indian life sciences deeptech start-ups.
