Bengaluru-based Digantara unveiled MOSAIC, an AI-powered distributed optical sensor network for continuous monitoring of objects in Low Earth Orbit. The company said the initial deployment comprises five nodes operating as a single coordinated surveillance network, with each node being a self-contained electro-optical system powered by solar with battery backup.
Why it matters
If the five-node network performs as described, it could provide India with more domestically controlled, time-critical orbital tracking data instead of relying on foreign commercial providers.
