Karnataka expanded Anna Seve app statewide for PDS beneficiary e-KYC

Karnataka made the ‘Anna Seve’ mobile app available across all districts from October 14, 2026, enabling Public Distribution System (PDS) beneficiaries to complete e-KYC remotely. The app had been running on a pilot basis in eight districts since October 1, during which 1,60,267 beneficiaries completed e-KYC via the app (Oct 1–12), according to the department.
Why it matters
Statewide access to app-based e-KYC can reduce travel and queues for PDS beneficiaries, including migrants who previously had to return to native places or visit offices to complete verification.
