HAL and Safran’s JV SAFHAL signed a final contract to develop Aravalli turboshaft engine

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Safran Helicopter Engines signed a final contract with their joint venture, SAFHAL Helicopter Engines Pvt. Ltd., to develop and manufacture the 3,500–4,000 shp class ‘Aravalli’ turboshaft engine. HAL said SAFHAL will lead the engine’s design, production, supply and lifecycle support for use on HAL’s planned 13-ton IMRH helicopter and its naval DBMRH variant.
