Karnataka launched the Karnataka State Multisectoral Action Plan for Salt Reduction and Promotion of Healthy Dietary Habits, targeting a 30% reduction in population salt intake by 2030. The plan focuses on salt reduction in households, food consumed outside the home, and processed/packaged foods, and includes measures such as dietary counselling through the health system and encouraging manufacturers to reduce salt in foods.
