NHAI restarts construction of foot overbridge near Kaniminike Toll Plaza

Work on a foot overbridge (FOB) has begun again at the Kaniminike black spot near the Kaniminike Toll Plaza on the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway, after the project remained unfinished for about 22 months. A contractor told The Hindu the superstructure construction is underway and the FOB could be opened to pedestrians within the next 10 days, though this timeline was stated as an assurance.
Why it matters
Once opened, the FOB would provide a safer crossing for students and other pedestrians using a stretch where multiple fatal and non-fatal accidents have been reported.
