Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project confirms ETCS Level-2 signalling for all corridors

Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Company (K-RIDE) confirmed the Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project will use the European Train Control System (ETCS Level-2) across all corridors, instead of the previously planned CBTC system. The project reported 19.9% physical completion as of July 2026, and noted that tenders have been invited for parts of Corridor-2 viaduct work and major packages on Corridor-4, with tendering also started to eliminate 11 level crossings on the existing line on Corridor-4.
