Tata Trusts and IIM Bangalore started an 80-student undergraduate batch

Tata Trusts said it has agreed to invest ₹250 crore with IIM Bangalore to set up an undergraduate university, and that the first batch of 80 students has already started. The Trusts also indicated an intention to spend another ₹250 crore about three years later to develop the institute.
Why it matters
Starting a new undergraduate programme at IIM Bangalore increases domestic capacity for higher education and creates a platform that can be expanded with committed philanthropic funding.
