SMSIMSR receives ₹5.5 crore ICMR grant for epidermolysis bullosa research project

Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR), Muddenahalli (Chikkaballapur district, Karnataka), received an ICMR research grant of ₹5,50,08,874 for four years to support the ADAPT-EB project on accessible diagnostics and affordable precision therapies for epidermolysis bullosa (EB). The project is led by SMSIMSR investigators with a co-investigator from SVS Medical College, Mahbubnagar.
Why it matters
The funding enables development and evaluation of lower-cost EB molecular diagnostics and related care pathways, which could improve access to diagnosis, counselling and treatment options for patients in India.
