DTDC Express Ltd launched 'DTDC Vallam Express', a waterway-based last-mile parcel delivery service for Kerala’s backwater communities. The service was initially launched in Kuttanad (Alappuzha district), covering 14 villages, using a model that pairs DTDC delivery staff with local oarsmen to reach locations not accessible by road.
Why it matters
It extends doorstep parcel delivery to water-bound communities where conventional courier networks typically stop at the end of road connectivity.
