Harrisons Malayalam Limited (HML) used drone seeding and seed-ball applications to distribute 112,178 seeds of 24 native species across 15 acres of land previously under eucalyptus at its Pattumallay Estate near Peerumade hills in Idukki, Kerala. The company said it plans to replicate the model in other areas after the restoration seeding work.

Drone-based aerial seeding can speed up restoration on plantation lands while improving coverage and reducing soil disturbance compared with manual methods.
