Kochi Corporation Council approved proposal for 150 TPD biodegradable waste plant at Brahmapuram

The Kochi Corporation Council approved, by vote on August 14, 2026, a proposal submitted by G3 Renewables Pvt. Ltd. to set up a new plant at Brahmapuram to treat 150 tonnes of biodegradable waste. The proposal envisages an investment of ₹25–30 crore and requires the Corporation to allot three acres on a 25-year lease.
Why it matters
If implemented, the proposed facility would add biodegradable waste-treatment capacity at Brahmapuram, where the Corporation said nearly 100 tonnes of waste is being dumped daily due to inadequate treatment capacity.
