Two bridges completed, making coastal road link from Kollam Angadi to Koyilandy harbour motorable

Koyilandy, Kerala13 Oct 2026

The Hindu reports that the coastal road connecting Koyilandy harbour with Kollam Angadi in Kozhikode district, Kerala, has been completed with the construction of two small bridges across the Cheriyathodu and Koothavallythodu canals. The bridges were built for ₹1.16 crore using Harbour Engineering Department funds under the Harbour Engineering Sub-Division Office, Koyilandy.

Why it matters

The completed link provides fishing communities in Kollam, Arayankavu and Gurukulam beach a direct road connection to Koyilandy harbour without using the national highway, and offers an alternate coastal route when traffic is disrupted.
