Kerala redeploys staff posts to operationalise new Senior Citizens’ Welfare Dept

Kerala’s General Administration Department issued orders redeploying key staff posts (including Additional Secretary, Under Secretary, Section Officer, Assistants and Computer Assistants) from existing departments to the newly created Department of Senior Citizens’ Welfare, as it moves toward becoming fully operational. The State Budget earmarked ₹10 crore for the department’s functioning and implementation of senior-citizen welfare schemes, and proposals for new initiatives have been submitted to the government.
