Civil works to begin for Vattiyurkavu junction development project in Thiruvananthapuram

Civil works for the Vattiyurkavu junction development project in Thiruvananthapuram are set to begin on September 14, 2026. The Kerala Road Fund Board has contracted the works to Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS), covering road, culvert and retaining wall construction and shifting of utility lines.
Why it matters
Starting civil works moves the project from land acquisition to on-ground construction, enabling road widening and junction improvements along a 10.8-km corridor in the area.
