KKR sought CCI approval to invest over ₹6,000 crore in Gentari Renewable India

KKR vehicle Sapphire US Holdco LLC has sought Competition Commission of India (CCI) approval for an investment of more than ₹6,000 crore in Singapore-based Gentari Renewable India Pte Ltd, Petronas’ India renewable energy unit, according to filings seen by ET. The report says the funding is intended to support expansion of Gentari’s renewable energy and green hydrogen projects and reduce debt, with an option for KKR to own a stake in the future.
Why it matters
If completed, this investment would add large growth capital for renewable power and green hydrogen project expansion linked to Gentari’s India business and joint ventures.
