Central Railways planted 10,000 vetiver slips on Bhor Ghat slopes as a landslide pilot

Central Railways planted 10,000 vetiver grass slips across about 5,600 sq m of hillside in the Bhor Ghat section between Karjat and Lonavala, Maharashtra. The ₹5 lakh pilot, carried out with Saguna Sustainability Solutions, is being tested as a bioengineering method to reduce landslide and erosion risk on high embankments during heavy rainfall.
