Gadchiroli Zilla Parishad began cash incentives for malaria testing and referrals

Maharashtra started an incentive scheme in Gadchiroli district to encourage tribal families to seek malaria testing and to encourage traditional healers (vaidus/pujaris) to refer suspected cases into the formal health system. As per a Gadchiroli Zilla Parishad health department order dated June 24, a family receives ₹500 if a member with fever approaches the health system and tests positive, and a referring traditional healer receives ₹200 when the referred patient tests positive via rapid diagnostic test and is connected to an ASHA worker or primary health centre.
